My mother taught me to sew at the age of four, instilling in my soul the passion for creating. This is one of the greatest gifts I have ever received. As an artist, I have explored a wide variety of media, but always come back to working with textiles. The process of hand dyeing silk, continually intrigues me and inspires my creativity. As each textile is manipulated, immersed, then unwrapped, I am rewarded with a sumptuous treat! The uniqueness of each piece provides the inspiration for my embellishments, such as stitching or beadwork. These small details entice the viewer to look closer and discover the subtleties of the applied color.
