Sherry’s fiber art combines her fine art background with the traditional world of quilts, spanning the spectrums of both. She likes to explore what is possible and enjoys pushing boundaries in each piece.

Using artist models often as her subjects, she creates scenarios in fiber that tell a story. Figures are drawn and painted using a mixed media palette: graphite pencils; fiber paint and dyes; acrylic paints; and water soluble crayons and colored pencils. Images are then stitched, appliquéd, embellished, layered with batting, and quilted. She also uses her own hand dyed and silk screened fabric in combination with commercial cottons.
