Using her sewing machine as an artists’ tool has long been Dee’s passion . She loves cloth, paper, thread, yarn and all manner of fiber, as well as the usual artists’ tools of paint, dye and other materials. Color is paramount to all she does. The qualities of the materials she uses keeps her experimenting with new ways of presenting her artistic vision.

Living in the foothills of Northern California, she is always influenced by the ever-changing landscape. The shapes of trees, hills, mountains and wildlife serve as stimulation for much of her current work. Combining photos, thread, and paint is a new and growing challenge which she plans on pursuing in the near future, along with the more classic presentation of her quilt art.
